About embroidery complexity at WKS

Choosing an embroidery pattern should be a joyful and easy process. Of course, the first impression matters, you need to love what you see! But there’s also something else worth knowing before you pick a pattern: what does the project actually involve?

How many hours of stitching will it take? How many colours are there? And how much detail and patience will it require? In this post, I’d like to take a closer look at embroidery complexity at WKS, and help you get a better feel for what to expect from a WKS pattern before you start stitching.

That's why I organised my patterns into 4 different complexity levels.

1. BEGINNER - EASY PEASY!

This is an easy pattern, accessible for the absolute beginner.

These patterns usually take about 3-5h to finish.
Maybe it’s your first time. You have never tried it before. Or maybe you’ve tried it in your childhood.

 

2. ADVENTUROUS BEGINNER - IT’S COOL, I CAN DO IT!

This pattern is whimsical, but not complex at all, it contains a few stitches every beginner should learn.

These patterns usually take about 8-10h to finish.
You’ve tried it before. You’ve stitched 2-5 easy embroideries, nothing complex and of small size.

 

3. INTERMEDIATE - BRING IT ON!

This pattern is more tricky, perfect for those who like a challenge.

These patterns usually take about 15-20h to finish.
You have already stitched about 5-10 patterns. You’re not ashamed to give your embroidery as a gift to your friends.

4. ADVANCED - ARE YOU SERIOUS?

This pattern is complex, it contains more color changes, a large variety of stitches, and intricate details.

These patterns usually take about 20-45h to finish.
You’ve stitched countless patterns. All your close friends already received an embroidered gift.

I noticed that some people try my advanced patterns even if they haven't embroidered in a long time, or have never embroidered before. The results are still awesome, so I think it all depends on your crafty attitude and overall crafting skills.
