The pursuit of meaning

I thought it might be nice to share a little bit about how Why Knot Stitches came to be, and how embroidery slowly became such an important part of my creative life.

How my embroidery journey started?

In the autumn of 2019 I launched my Etsy shop with just a few embroidery patterns and kits. I remember the exhilarating feeling of owning a small shop, a joy only tempered by my intuition whispering that nurturing its growth would demand unwavering hard work.

I was still working as an illustrator part-time. My drawings and illustrations adorned billboards and branded products, but their lifespan was fleeting. As soon as one design was completed, another was needed.

Why is embroidery different in my opinion?

With embroidery, it's different. I usually spend several weeks pouring my heart into each design, which then finds appreciation and new life through many hands.

Each piece of hand embroidery is unique, reflecting the personal style of its creator. People form deep attachments to something they’ve crafted themselves, or that was made by a loved one. So a design born from my heart comes to lifethrough your hands and soul.

Slowly but surely, I was designing embroidery patterns and visual tutorials. By 2021 it became a full-time business, and I have released successful collections, like the "Human Nature", and the "Christmas Heart-Shaped Ornaments", while also sharing valuable video tutorials for passionate embroiderers everywhere.

I suddenly realized that I was putting all the skills I had acquired, illustration, photo, and video editing to good use. My artistic soul felt fulfilled . For me, this creates a meaningful life: to make the best of my abilities.

I've been on this journey of blending illustration and embroidery since 2019, learning and growing every step of the way.

I don't claim to know everything, but I love  gathering and structuring the knowledge I acquire, and share it with fellow embroidery enthusiasts.
