This pattern is listed as not for beginners. I didn't find that the stitches were that complicated, but the instructions were hard to follow. The instructions state that the fur should follow a certain flow, but flow lines were not included in the copy imagine meaning you had to constantly reference the original doc to make sure that the flow lines were correct. Also in the video instructions for the hair there appeared to be extra stitches at the hair line that are not mentioned in the instructions or in the copy imagine.
